saw this.  Last in MLB actually.  Not sure I like this trend but it does make for more watchable baseball.

They had the 6th most walks in MLB last year, not a lot of offensive turnover.   Looking at at the swing data my guess is they will eventually see the walks go up.

The Z contact and the sort is impressive.

I’m giving it a couple more weeks before I really start looking over the numbers. Sample size is a little small still, rainouts and Covid wreaked havoc on the schedule and the rotation, a lot of at-bats from reserves with all the injuries. I think (hope) some of the bullpen struggles are attributed as well to Maddon simply exploring roles and leverage situation for guys still.

By mid-May things should be ‘settled’ a little better, and things should start getting closer to where the truth really lies.

Hogwash with your sound, rational, level-headedness common sense.  Freaking out irrationally is what we do best man

Yankees don't have a single sacrifice fly or triple this season.  They're also dead last in going first to third...

The bats have really been slow to start the season.

Consider this...

Bruce retired but remains the guy with the most AB's at 1B, his replacement hasn't faired any better...  7 regulars batting .208 or under  6 guys with an OPS under .617

Yankees record is 3 games under .500.  Are you wishing you knew what that was like?

Point taken, it has been a long time though since the Halos pen was effective enough as a unit.

Great seasons here and there from Robles, Mayers, and Petit, but otherwise, meh for the previous five seasons.

That has to change for them to be real contenders.
