League & Union Reportedly "Closing In" On Deal For 2020 Season

The “when and where” was when they were done negotiating and figured the commissioner would implement the 50 game season.  Once they offered full prorated pay for 60 games they figured they’d continue to negotiate.   Then again I was criticized for calling this a negotiation.

So they were getting 20% more than they would have if they had the implemented 50 game schedule, and are now asking for more on top of that.

Or it’s 52 less games than the originally wanted to play

But I thought they were fine with the 50, which prompted “when and where”. They get more money and games than the 50 they were said to be ok with, and are now asking for more on top.

I don’t disagree with you in that they’re just negotiating for what they can get and what they think is “fair” or whatever, it just comes off bad after so many of them went to social media and said tell us when and where.

So there’s a difference between negotiating and living up to an agreement, something the owners don’t understand.
The owners finally made a counter offer in good faith, so the players countered in good faith.

I think we’ll just have to agree that we’re seeing how the players look after saying when and where differently. I’m not talking about the negotiation process, I’m talking about public (my) perception of the players as a whole.

That’s fair.  So if you were Tony Clark would you have just accepted this 60 game offer?  Even if it’s the first good faith offer?
