Eppler is no God but he's also no Dipoto. That's really the point of all these discussions.

All I'm told is that Dipoto left the Angels in a bad position. Yet, many of Dipoto's people are still on the MLB team and in the Organization. No one has explained why he signed Cozart. No one has explained why he hasn't fixed the starting rotation they only praise him for the bullpen he puts together. Yeah, he took a lot of Artes money and went for 1 year upsides this year and it hasn't worked out so far yet Eppler gets a pass for all his mistakes. If he was TRULY an amazing GM, he would have traded away or released ALL Dipotos mistakes and inserted his genius. That didn't and hasn't happened.

Also @beatlesrule Skaggs and Heaney are affordable with quite a bit of upside.  We have already explained in detail that solving starting pitching through free agency long term is expensive and doesn’t really work.  Skaggs will end up with better numbers this year, than most of the free agents paid much more than him.

What the hell are you talking about with many of Dipoto’s guys are still on the team?  First base, CF, RF, Skaggs, Heaney, and Bedrosian.  Am I missing anyone?

He entered the regime with no farm and a depleted budget.  His boss tells him make do with what you have because your not getting anymore money!  So he gambles on reclamation projects and Hope's everyone is healthy.  Which of course they are not!

I am glad you are okay with mediocrity. I really wish I could be content with the way the Angels have played baseball the last 4 years. I expect better of them. That's my problem to work through. My bar is just set higher than many here. Again, that's my problem.

What you should be asking is why did he let  Parker go?  Why did he let Shoemaker go?  And spent money on Allen, Cahill,  and Harvey?

I will give Eppler a pass on Cozart.  I am pissed about the other ty here signees.
