Moving to Colorado. Tips?

I’m moving to Colorado tomorrow for a job. Was born and raised in CA, so this will be a big change. I’m moving to the Boulder area.

 

Are any of you familiar with the area? Nobody likes California transplants, so I want to make a great impression

I made that move 37 years ago. I really like Colorado but that first winter can suck

where are you moving from?

btw, I've only ever heard good things about Boulder.

I’ve lived my whole life in SoCal, mostly in the Corona/Rivershit area but grew up in Brea.

I recently finished grad school which I did in Chicago, and I never want to go back there.

 

I hear good things about Boulder, too. Lots of whites so it’s safe.

The first time I took a job over here I had to go to St Louis for three months first to get some training and process the visa. I left Las Vegas in late January wearing my Las Vegas in January clothes. I had to go the very next day to buy boots and a proper jacket since the high for the day was 9 degrees

and 2 days after that it will be 65. Colorado weather is about as bizarre as it gets...snows one day, sunny and warm the next...thunderstorms almost every afternoon in the summer.

You've just described the entire state.  In fact, from the time you hit Utah, you pretty much don't see another non-white person until you get to St. Louis.
