What the F*ck does Valbuena have to offer over Taylor Ward?

Major league experience?

Uhh.  This.

If they thought Ward could contribute right now he’d be up.  I don’t know why we always have this narrative that players that we start who suck are guys that actual baseball people with the angels love and are somehow blind to their suck.  Do we really think the Angels don’t know Luis juice is trash ?

Ward has never in his entire collegiate or professional baseball life played like this.  There are TONS of question marks around him.

Contribute to what, exactly?

Give Ward experience now. Valbuena won’t be on the team next year, isn’t producing an ounce now.  Time to move on. Can’t be worse with anyone else. Can be better though.

True, but Ward has also always caught through 2017.

Maybe the hitting and SB tools were always solid potential, but catching takes its’ toll?

Presumably the team.  I mean do we think the Angels are holding back this awesome ready to go hitter in order keep Luis Valbuena in the line up ? Come on man, you know better then this.

Ward will come up when they think he’s got a shot to contribute.

Or maybe the Angels, who literally watch him everyday know he’s not ready for the majors yet and don’t  want to fu*ck him up.

Again, this is ou of the blue with Taylor Ward.  Not just the performance but also the pedigree.  Hope for the best, let them manage him.

I hate this narrative. Valbuena serves exactly zero purpose starting. He's a net negative contribution wise, he's not going to be with the team after this disaster of a season is over with, and his position is a question mark next year.

What you said regarding Ward might have some validity if Ward wasn't challenging AAA for a .400 average with discipline and power. Ward can solve some huge problems if he has the ability to produce at the MLB level.

But because he's not had this good of a season before, we should keep trotting Valbuena out instead in a losing season. F*ck that shit.

It has validity because the Angels know a shit load more then we the community at Angelswin.com do.  They know their players.

Again, maybe their development plan for Taylor Ward doesn’t include rushing him to the majors in a season that we’re 10 or 11 games out in late July.  Maybe it’s that and nothing to do with being in love with Luis Valbuena.

You're missing the point entirely. 2018 is a lost cause. Holding onto the veteran turds who won't even be here next year while we have younger guys killing it is absolutely detrimental to the team going forward.

Would you rather lose with Valbuena, Marte, Blash, etc... Or with Marsh, Fletcher, Rengifo etc...?

There might be an excuse for losing with a lineup of rookies, not so much with the shitstains that are on the roster now.

He's 24, not 20...they're not rushing him, that's for sure.

This is just a horrifying case of them being stubborn fucks.
