So will blanton be sent down / released?

Recommended Posts

I don't think he can be sent down, unless the Angels come up with a fake injury so he can work on things in the minors. I doubt he'll get released this early. He has too much money left on his contract.

wasn't kazmir released with almost $15 million left on his contract? he cant be sent to the bullpen, not with his fat pitches so he is basically wasting a spot on the roster.

He was released with almost $12 million left on his contract. I think he should be released, but Dipoto probably doesn't want to admit he made a mistake this soon (even though it's obvious he made a mistake).

They need to just accept that this was yet another bad signing by the org and cut bait. This guy has made 8 starts on the year and the team has lost EVERY ONE OF THE GAMES. They have 24 losses on the season and 8 of them have come with Blanton on the mound. He's atrocious

just move on please and put Richards in the rotation for good

Bright side: He will make history for allowing 300 hits this season.

'300' returns!

He's got a long way to go to match this guy's record (scroll down to see his pitching stats):

772 hits in 538 1/3 IP, with a 12-48 W/L record in 1883.  :)  He gave up *510* runs--but "only" 291 were earned.

Good find.

Coleman had 59 complete games that season. He averaged less than one walk per game. A few years later, he became primarily an outfielder and first baseman, and was a pretty good hitter.
