Trouts mentality

Recommended Posts

Trout is just leveling out. He had one of the best rookie seasons EVER. But defense normally doesn't slump or regress dramatically. He's missed plays in the OF that are baffling.

He's horrible playing balls of the wall, it's been a little depressing. Good news, probably just a over-anxious (kinda)-rookie thing, he's not adjusting his speed well. It isn't something I'd worry too much about in the long run.

Assuming anyone is actually worried.

That ball was catchable, especially for Trout.  It wasn't going over the fence until his glove guided-it over.

He's mis-played a few out there (center and Left), but I don't think it's reasonable to expect a 99% fielding percentage.  Moving from center to left is not that big of a deal to a young Major Leaguer with all his ability.

I think there's a problem in the clubhouse; there's no leader.

The clubhouse has long been infected with Captip Sciosciocauclus.

It gets in the cleats, the jockstraps, the gloves and even the bats.

It is hard to get rid of. Every time you think it should be gone, it just hangs around somehow.

They took a 21yo who had the best rookie season of all time and switched him to a less natural position where he hadn't gotten many reps. Granted, it made the most sense as the guy replacing him is a better cf defender. Turns out trout is a decent but not great lfer as of yet.

It was a distraction. Along with the increased hype, contract renewal etc. two games into a move back to cf and he has a miscue. Give the guy a chance to get his cf bearings back.

Also, the league has a full year of film on him now.

Finally, he's 21. Twenty freakin one years old.

He gets some grace.

2012 line as a LFer: .326/.395/.645, 10 HR, 25 RBI

So he didn't mind getting kicked to the corner last season but this season it's suddenly a problem?

We should sign Tebow to pitch. Dude pitched in HS. Seriously, I don't see how it would hurt. If anything it would help is get a better draft pick in 2014 if HE imploded on the mound every appearance.

If he can throw a backfoot slider with a baseball as well as he throws it with a football we might have the next great lefty there.
