i'm always amused at how a guy who's struggling, like trumbo was last half of last year, is terrible and how he was playing over his head earlier. why can't a guy ever be playing under his head, so to speak?

Trumbo is definetely on a tear. Glad he was finally moved up to cleanup. To be honest, in the short term, wouldn't mind him batting 3rd. No knock on albert, but right now trumbo is gonna scare pitchers a lot more. Maybe that helps trout get back to normal.

I am pretty sure anyone on the team could teach Hamilton a thing about hitting in general.  Starting with pitch recognition of a change-up from a right hander and a curveball from a left hander.

The home run derby destroyed him last year, as long as he doesn't do it this year, he has the power to produce all year, let's hope he can. What would be ideal is if they juggled the batting order for the time being and made it look like this.

Get Trout back to leadoff and force pitchers to throw some actual pitches to Hamilton by giving Trout the green light. Once he gets hot, drop him down to four, shift everyone down, and bring Aybar to the two hole. You won't intentionally walk Hamilton to get to Pujols, but you would to get to Kendrick, which happens if he is in five hole.

 

All he needs is a little confidence boost right now, anyone got a bump or a filled shot glass we can bring to him? Always seems like he has a slip up when he does well or right before it.

It was August...that month was the opposite of April, in that everybody who sucked in April raked in August and everybody who raked in April sucked in August.

I don't think he'll be super consistent. I think it will be similar, but hopefully not exactly as last year. I'm glad he's getting back into the groove, but with this team I don't expect consistency.

It certainly seems as though that rib injury Trumbo was keeping quiet last season had an effect.  Sure looks healthy now though.
