I amost thought we were going to make it through without losing anyone else.

We had a thread earlier this year that mentioned Alan Thicke. I'll repeat the fact that he was the one who introduced Southern California's own crazy Red Hot Chili Peppers onto our televisions for the time ever on his late night show Thicke of the Night back in '84.

The Kings held a retirement dinner for Marcel Dionne on the ice at the Great Western Forum in 1990, and season ticket holders could buy tickets to attend, so my brother and I ponied up. There were some speakers during the dinner, and Alan Thicke was one of them. He was hilarious. Got to meet him afterwards and shake his hand, and it was a nice moment.

He played his role as a tv dad very well.

Man, this is very sad news.

Someone I follow on twitter said that Allen Thicke was like a Dick Clark version of Tim Allen.  

I don't know what that means but it seems pretty accurate.
