Joe Mauer Tattoo

If the Twins don't reach 60 wins this year, I will have to get a tattoo of Joe Mauer on my back left shoulder. This was a work bet made in March. Seemed like easy money at the time. I held this from the board for a while, figuring it wouldn't come down to the wire like this. Bottom line: I need the Twins to go 5-5 from here on out. Wish me luck.

How did the bet even happen? Does anyone outside of Minnesota even care enough about the Twins to bet on them?

BTW I freakin love those big signs with just the faces of players on them, I think they're hilarious for some reason.

Back in March a guy I worked with (who is  a Twins fan from MN) was complaining that the Twins would suck this year. I pointed out that they outperformed their stats last year, but still had 83 wins and had some good young guys (Sano, Buxton) that could help out this year. I jokingly mentioned that I would get a Joe Mauer tattoo if they didn't win at least 60. A couple days later he came to me with an offer. $200 if the Twins win 60 or more. A Joe Mauer tattoo if they won 59 or less. Seemed like easy money at the time. Then we got a written version of the bet with tattoo pledge money from various coworkers. Once again, this was in March. I didn't think it would come to this.

It was not specified in the contract if it had to be a permanent tattoo or a temporary tattoo.

Let's face it, Don ... you're getting this tattoo.  You might as well start planning.  Here's the work of some tattoo artists you may want to consider.  It's hard to look at these and not think, "Nailed it!"
