Arte's bluff to move was called. Arte pays zero rent. He currently keeps all of the parking revenue to a certain threshold which is about 95%. He keeps 100% of all concessions and ticket sales. The only thing Arte is in the hook for if he extends the lease is to fix the stadium. Those repairs could easily be deferred or subsidized by tax dollars in a new agreement. Arte's not going anywhere because it's already a sweetheart deal.

I really don't think there is any progress and Arte will either stay at the Big A or sell the team or both.  Call Roto Rooter and upgrade the plumbing.

My guess is Moreno will avoid spending in FA and use the money he's saved (along with going rent free for the past decade) to make some renovations to the stadium in 2018/19. They won't be structural though, mostly just things to make it look pretty and updated. To its core, it's still going to be the same cookie cutter stadium with sewage problems. Putting a nose ring on a pig.

AO quit being an asshole. The payroll is maxed out so there is no five and dime going on. If Arte was going the A's route you would have a point but the amount invested in this team puts them in the top five payroll for the last decade.
