The Angels check in with three in the Top 100, at #2 (Ohtani), #46 (Adell), and #89 (Jones).

Adell and Jones are beginning to get the recognition they deserve. Adell particularly will likely be a top 5 prospect soon. 

I'm liking Law more and more since we hired one of his friends from the Yankees to be our GM.

Adell has the kind of tools upside, yes. There were a ton of concerns about his hitting ability as an amateur, so I'm very interested to see how his first full pro season goes. Debut was better than a lot of scouts expected. @Angels #Top100Prospects https://t.co/1eLNaGxRkJ

Two things stand out:  Maitan seems to be in real good shape; and Adell must be one of the most physically gifted prospects in all of MLB.

The story is he took a "stimulant" in order to stay awake while driving. Every time one of these happens, there's always a completely innocent story.

so instead of taking some 'over the counter' supplement he didn't realize was bad, he's admitting to driving under the influence?  

maybe character issues were why we skipped him.

Re: Jones switching to 2B possibly, it makes total sense. 

Upton and Trout are going to hold fort in the outfield for at least the next three years, that leaves just Calhoun's RF position open. Jones really isn't a RF and I cannot see Upton or Trout moving over to accommodate Jones in CF. Adell and Marsh profile much better in RF when Calhoun is done, while Hermosillo can hold the spot until then if Calhoun has another mediocre season in '18.

I am very hopeful this works out for Jones.  It might delay his development a bit, but I think it will be worth it if he doesn't let his defense affect him at the plate.  Would be great if he can move to AA 

Put the kid next to Simmons, Kinsler and Cozart so he can sponge as much in as possible.

Right after I rank him as our top defensive outfielder. He played 2B in high school and has the athleticism to do it. It would likely put his minor league career path a bit longer, but long run its a good move.

The drug testing is extremely player friendly. Many performance enhancers are either legal, or not tested for. Many recreational drugs are out of their system before they may need to be tested in Spring. 

In my opinion, there aren't a ton of excuses for any positive tests.

He's just such a good defender in CF, very solid. I never thought they'd do it because he's as good as he is out there. But it makes complete sense from a depth perspective.
