While I fully expect Arrieta to have another great year, to assume he will just go back to what he did last year right off the bat is asinine. Could he, sure, but it isn't likely. I'll put it this way, I would rather face him today than in the middle of the season.

Jake Arrieta was a below-average pitcher from 2010 through 2013.

 

24-27 with a 5.23 ERA, ERA+ of 80. He got better in 2014, then great in 2015.
