Three-way Trade?

Of course this depends on who we give up, but I just can't imagine this being a big deal.  Actually thought about mentioning Saunders a while back as a low cost option.

Bruce is gonna have a big year in that park, playing for a good team.  He's probably going to DH a fair amount and platoon with Colabello.  He'll probably bat 7th and have no pressure.  Plus, he's in his walk year.

Saunders was solid vs. rhers and outside of safeco in his last three seasons before the injury.  He's no savior, but he stands to be at least mildly helpful above what we have.

Alden Gonzalez ‏@Alden_Gonzalez now

Saunders is making $2.9M this season, which probably puts the Angels over the $189M luxury-tax threshold. Significant addition for them.

wtf. This can't be true, right? If acquiring him puts them over the threshold then why the hell did they not sign a damn OFer in the offseason. Fowler is still available but I just remembered he still has the draft pick attached to him, which sucks

Maybe the Jays would have eaten just enough to where the Angels stayed under....or perhaps Alden's calculations are off. It makes zero sense that they'd penny pinch all offseason with a deep OF market only to then go over the threshold by adding a freakin Michael Saunders to the mix. That whole scenario sounds insane

And actually sounds like something the FO would want you to believe as a worthy investment......
