Phillips' hiring is textbook.   Young offense minded head coach brings in defense guru to be DC.   Now McVay can focus on fixing the moribund offense, and let Phillips run the defense side of things.

We can only hope this goes as well as it did for one young head coach many years back: John Madden (age 32).

That was nearly 50 years ago. If you are going by often occurrence of a 30 year old head coach being successful then, no, the Rams haven't a chance in hell.

Rams have zero size at WR. Woods is barely 6ft

He's Hercules next to Tavon Austin.   There is no way I would count on Austin to be THE guy.   Too much inconsistency

He's fine as a big yardage threat and on returns.

Who to take at #37 overall?   There is a WR who impressed scouts at the Senior Bowl and the combine.   He's from East Carolina (6-2, 202), and caught some 140 passes this past season for some 1,600 yards.

i don't watch college football so my input probably isn't going to be very meaningful on this. butgoing strictly on face value (and some common sense), those are impressive stats and if he's available at 37, you have to look at him very, very closely, especially since that's a pretty big area of need.

USC just signed his brother who is a linebacker out of Texas.

Heavy rains in January and February forced delays, is the official explanation.   Plus, they want to err on the conservative side instead of rushing to get it done in time, and didn't want to wait until 2018 to announce the delay in opening.

But hey, like with Levis Stadium in Santa Clara in 2015, they could always have a WrestleMania open Rams Stadium in March/April 2020.

also that stadium was supposed to host the super bowl in feb 2021, but now that is the first season for the stadium and NFL policy says a new stadium can't host a super bowl in their first season.
