So I've been binge watching this series over the last few weeks and I just wanted to say that I just love this show. Never had HBO before so I wasn't watching when the series was active and ongoing. Boy do I love the HBO Go app on my Smart TV.

I'm on Season 4, episode 2 right now and enjoy every bit of this show.

Anyhow, what are your favorite seasons, episodes, characters etc.?

Great show. The first show I ever binged a couple years ago. Plowed through the show in about two weeks.

I forget the season, but it's the final episode and one of the most gangster things ever where Tony and everyone takeout a whole crew where the last one has Tony dumping the body in the river. It was like a killing spree montage.

I've actually wanted to watch it again, but knowing I'll have to commit the time is rough.

why do you use the hbo go app on your tv, and not just go to the hbo channel on your cable box?

dont you have to be a subscriber to use the app?

My favorite show ever.

Best episode imho was The Pine Barrens. It's the one where Pauley and Christopher get lost in the woods after failing to execute the Russian. I always thought that would come back to haunt them, but it never did. Would have made a good ending if it was the Russian who clips Tony in the final episode.

When I have friends vist from out of the area, I give them a Sopranos tour of all the filming sites. I live walking distance to Tony's house, as well as his mothers and Bobby Baccala & Janet's house.

I didn't watch it when it was on originally and Mrs. Scuf and I tried to get into it a few years ago, it just didn't take after a few episodes.

And I love Goodfellas, Casino, Donnie Brasco, etc., so it should have taken. It just didn't.

How many episodes did you watch? I think you have to give a show like that close to a full season.

I will say, I hate that this show started the annoying wife character that top shows seem to have now.

Chick marries and has kids with a gangster, then goes off the rails because he's a gangster.

I thought that was part of the brilliance of this show. The character development was great. Carmella was the ultimate hipocrite. Tony was a Jeckyl/Hyde that had personality traits that we all can identify with. You saw the rough side and the soft side of Tony every week.

Maybe, I grew a soft spot for the writing in a similar note with Skylar of Breaking Bad after her op ed and January Jones character in Mad Men when I heard Matthew Weiner (ironically writer of the Sopranos) talk about how he wrote her and the hypocrisy way she was displayed.

Never got into that show, always meant to sit down and watch it. I just never have the time to stay up on shows, bot home enough.

Off topic, and dont want to derail, but one hbo show i did watch religiously back in the day was oz. Last season or so it fell off, got too silly, but the first few seasons were great.

One of the best scenes was in the last season when Dr Melfi finally realized she as enabling Tony. Her therapist told her, and she read the study that stated therapy will just help a sociopath justify their criminality. She had been helping Tony all along.

Tony reinforced this when they showed him going to a new psychiatrists office and picking up right where he left off.
