Years ago Cars & Coffee in Irvine was shut down by new residents that live close to the industrial part of town next to the freeway because participants made too much noise in the Mazda Corporation parking lot on Saturday mornings.

Speaking of Austin, I read an article yesterday from some millennial crease who moved to Austin complaining that she can’t afford to buy a single family detached home in Austin and wanting the feds to put some sort of controls on real estate values so she could afford to buy a house in Austin.

Moving to a more affordable place, waiting and saving more, buying a condo and/or getting a better paying job we’re not concepts she had considered.

Here’s the article: https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/23/opinions/millennials-almost-impossible-to-afford-home-olson/index.html

It’s almost like millennials have a sense of entitlement. This article is actually sad knowing people think like she does

I almost shared this article but I knew people would jump on the writer for her dim wittedness. There was one bit that I found compelling...

A recent Unison report showed that nationwide it takes nearly 15 years to save up for a 20% down payment on a median-priced home if you have a median income. In Los Angeles, someone must save for 43 years; in New York City and Miami, it's 36 years; and San Diego, 31.

Basically, at 26 at my median-income job, I'll be 69 when I have enough money for a down payment in LA, or, I could head for San Diego when I'm 57.

43 years at a median income job just to get to a 20% down payment on a house you'll never pay off is nuts.
