Clearly (I was at SC 95-99 "the Hackett years" so yeah, there was no football happiness...).  My unarticulated point was that some are saying those students aren't interested in anything outside the classroom, so universities need to prepare for a generation of students who aren't interested in athletics or other social events, and I felt that balance created a better overall experience for the vast majority.

or you could have just gone to el camino and saved yourself about $200k.

The defense side of the coaching really sucks.    The recruiting hasn't been that great recently on that side.    Their run defense has to be one of the worst in the NCAA.

"This will be a blow to USC's recruiting in the short term seeing as Udeze was one of USC's most dogged recruiters. Udeze helped bring in arguably the best defensive line class in the nation last cycle with five-star defensive tackle  Marlon Tuipulotu, five-star Tufele, four-star JUCO DE transfer Caleb Tremblay and three-star gems Brandon Pili and Lichtenstein. Udeze was hitting the recruiting trail hard for USC the past 48, taking an in-home visit with major defensive line target and four-star All-American defensive end Drake Jackson. He was also involved with the recruitments of All-Americans Siaki Ika and Ty Robinson, two of USC's major 2019 defensive line targets."

If so, the results weren’t seen.
