I've actually warmed up to the idea of getting Revere, but ONLY if there is another bat to come along. The fact that Revere hits in a hitter's park is pretty irrelevant since he has no power anyway.

 

Besides, playing in Philadelphia his team was mathematically eliminated the first week in April. Not a lot to play for, and I'm sure that it has to be difficult to stay motivated when you get your ass handed to you that often.

i think you need to reread what he wrote. he said it's hard to stay motivated when you're not in the race, not that they're unmotivated.

I honestly don't see how Detroit could trade Price and Cespedes right now. They are 3.5 games out of a playoff spot. A win tonight and they are 2.5 games out of a playoff spot. Then they have Cabrera coming back in a couple weeks.

I agree. I don't see the Tigers as sellers. They have the offense to get through October, not the pitching though. I think they will flirt with a wild card which will cost them heavily in the long run because they will lose Price and Cespedes with nothing to show for either

I'm a geneiuous at trade proposals:

 

CJ Wilson and Cam Bedrosian for Jose Bautista.

 

Bautista has a team option for 2016 so he wouldn't just be a rental. Blue Jays get pitching help they desperately need.

 

Then, the Angels trade something like Victor Alcantara and Greg Mahle for Ben Revere. Revere leads off and plays LF, Bautista plays DH/RF when Calhoun or Trout need rest.

 

Finally, the Angels trade CJ Cron to the White Sox for Zach Putnam.

Murphy and Robertson wouldn't be too bad out in left. But we have the pitching depth to get a good young hitter, so let's take that route.

I'm not saying I'd give up a ton to get CarGo given his contract/injury history, but the Coors thing is so overblown. Matt Holliday always had massive home/road splits when he was on the Rockies and it's never been an issue since. For some guys when you play half your games at a park where breaking balls don't break, it hurts your timing in road games. I guarantee his numbers as an Angel would be better than his road numbers as a Rockie.
