I think Peter Gammons has used the "he's just a ballplayer" line to describe every player he has been asked for an opinion on.

There have been tons of position players going already in the draft. There's zero reason for the Angels to draft a position player just because he is a position player when the best player available at the time was a pitcher.

 

At this point I'd be shocked if their first pick wasn't a pitcher.
