We're still in Scioscia's sorting out period.  He's looking for those he can count on in the season's second half.

 

Wright is also throws knuckle balls, and Krauss has a good record against Dickey, also a knuckle baller.

Well, that accounts for 2 of Krauss's whopping 3 hits in 25 AB's this season. Though at least he's no longer striking out at a 50% clip.

Cron, because he's hitting 80 points higher, and there's also the off chance that if he breaks out of his slump he becomes a decent starter (2.5 years younger than Krauss, better stats across similar career AB's). With Krauss there is no upside whatsoever. He's a .200 hitter across 350 career at-bats, and even if he "breaks out", he's still a sub-replacement-level player. Same goes for guys like Boesch, Ibanez, Joyce, etc. They're scrubs with all of the downside risk of a sub-.150 average and no upside potential due to their age, profile, etc. In short, I say leave Cron in there and let him work his way out of the slump.
