DJ has recovered nicely from that opening hole 8. he has two eagles on the back nine and is somewhere around 6 under for the day. imagine where'd be without that snowman.

Congrats to Day. First and only major tournament winner to reach -20. A brilliant tournament and a well-deserved victory.

I underestimated Day.  Turned a two shot lead on Saturday into a three shot lead on Sunday and beat the best player in golf.  Hell of a performance by him.  Awesome for a good dude to win.

Congrats to Spieth as well, now #1 in the Official World Golf Rankings.  The kid had some nice things to say about JD afterward, he's mature well beyond his years.

watching spieth putt is amazing. this kid is insanely good.

Generational talent when it comes to putting. I was looking at stats yesterday and he is .4 strokes per round better than the next best putter. That equates to almost two strokes better over a tournament to the next best player. Not the average of the field but the player in second! That is insane. He is basically one of the best putters ever. He will get some more distance as he matures and puts on weight and muscle....with 20 more yards ok his drive watch out!

Seeing Day's emotions after he missed the playoff at the Open on #72, impressed me enough that I knew his breakthrough was coming...soon. Then he went out and won the next week.

Reminds me a little of Lefty's struggles in majors when being so close so often, although Day has better game than Phil did/does. Much more solid and controlled.

 

This current group of young talent is damn impressive. What a fun tournament for us fans to watch..I choked up right along with JD at the end. 

 

Looking forward to next April, already.

One thing I like about these courses without deep rough is the pace of play is excellent.  These guys are flying through their round.

it is great for golf that Tiger is winning and all but this group of players feel like 10 years ago.  Tiger, DL3, gore, leonard, chad campbell......I really wish Tiger could start competing with Spieth, Rory, Day, and DJ.  Those four guys are so much fun to watch.

meanwhile, 51 year old davis love has eagled two par 5s today and is sitting tied for first at -17. YAY FOR OLD GUYS!!

tour playoff begins tomorrow headed to the tour championship. i really like that the pga tour has done this to put more interest in the end of the season.

Its so hard to predict the winner of the playoffs because so much weight is placed on the final tournament.
