So what is everyone's thoughts on Obama's plan for ISIS?

the root problem here is that we have declared war on an ideal, not a nation or specific identifiable group of people. This isnt war, in uniform.. that idea seems to have died decades ago.. today its all about anonymous tactics and ideals which dont have flags, or borders.

Unless they are walking around with name tags on, which based on the masks and such they are more interested in hiding and being cowards than standing front and center for their ideals, we really dont have a friggin clue who we are supposed to be killing.

as a result its way to easy to say we hit civilians even if we actually hit 100% of the target because they are civilians.

Unless we catch them in their cowards veils, we dont know. At least Bin Ladin had the courage to say it to our faces, these guys hide like cockroaches afraid we will find them.. its a nation of cowardice as much as it is terror.

These guys aren't trying to hide from us, though. They aren't over here fighting us on our land. We are fighting them on their land. Land that once again we feel compelled to try to dictate who can rule and by what means. It's not our land. If we left them alone they wouldn't be hiding from us. They're hiding because we once again stuck our nose where it doesn't belong and started dropping bombs on people because we don't like the system of government they support. This shit is getting old.

I pretty much agree with you on principle but lets not make it sound like ISIL is just trying to get along.  They really are bad guys.

Jay, do you honestly believe the U.S. are good guys when it comes to the Middle East?

How many people have been killed there by american weapons, or weapons sold by the U.S.?

How many people have been killed there by evil despots propped up as U.S. puppets?

How many people have been driven out of their homes, lost their families, or suffered other tragedies due to direct U.S. involvement?

I really don't see how we are good guys.

The US and defense contractors have profited an insane amount from the unrest in the middle east.  We have essentially overthrown any leaders that are not profitable to us (mostly from oil and other commodities) and funded ones that would be profitable.  All with no regard to the lively hood of the people living there.  These leaders are greedy, they want money to fund their hateful crusades and regimes.

One of the craziest examples is all the unusable infrastructure we've built in Afghanistan. US contractors made a boatload of money for building power plants that just sit vacant and unused.
