Except that we're running out of time to complete a waiver wire deal.

Whether they find a waiver deal that works this season or they feel it's something that can wait for the offseason and roll with an arm in the minors to step in, I trust Jerry and the FO will do everything to keep this team competitive long after this year.

The August 31st deadline is not a hard deadline. Players have to be on the Angels roster by Aug 31st to be eligible for the playoffs. At this point the Angels need to patch together 7 starts. If need be they can add a starter in September for 3 to 4 starts, they just can't use him in the playoffs. A top arm for the playoffs isn't going to happen.

Trying to think outside of the box here but what about stretching out Morin? Bullpen will be fine.
