Could be this year, but I've been waiting for them to finally put forth their best roster, and...I'm still waiting for it. July is fast approaching, and Frieri is still closer and Ibanez is still on the team.Freese is still getting regular playing time and is somehow batting 5th-6th still as well, etc

I'm at the point where I'm accepting we're not going to the playoffs this year. Not with Ibanez and Freese getting regular ABs and not with this bullpen. We could be .500 by July 1st and I would not be surprised at all.

 

I'm just going to kick back and enjoy Mike Trout the rest of the year. It's more fun

It's hard to say. I'm thinking 2015. The youngsters will be a year better and hopefully the bullpen will be improved. They'll make the playoffs, in spite of scioscia.

It's easy to bump these threads and enjoy a cheap laugh at the expense of the original posters. To be fair, this thread was started after a disappointing loss to Cleveland on a walk-off hit that dropped us six games behind the A's, who looked invincible at the time. 

 

Nobody has a crystal ball that could have foretold this remarkable season.

Poppycock...the Angels weren't awful after that loss...Oakland was still in the midst of outperforming themselves and the Angels were still "in the playoffs" as a wild card team. People who go overboard with their reactions deserve to be made fun of later.
