Fresh Catch Trout

We've made the case for keeping him. A few have expressed concerns. Now if you're asked today to bet your life on it.... what do you THINK will end up happening? My gut feeling on this is he's going to somewhat shock the world and quietly stay.

Has this come up with Eppler or the media at all over the winter? I scour but haven't found a lot on the web about it. My friends in the Angels circle are very optimistic that this is going to happen and Mike is going to stay with how they've build around him.

What would you guys put the % odds on him re-signing here at the current moment? 50/50? Greater than?

I think we will surprise everyone and outbid Philadelphia to retain Trout. 12 years, $500 million... he stays here and shocks a lot of the baseball world. We need to hope Philly's young arms don't develop

Why aren't we trying to extend Trout; like now. They're pretty cavalier about it.

If they don't extend trout I may have to hurt myself.

Is there a way for a mod to maybe pin this thread; or start a thread and pin it that is a "Mike Trout Extension" discussion, that we can run until 2020. And we can discuss all things with a Mike Trout extension there? Please? I think it's worth it.

I actually like it. He can be a guy who has success in our home park. Throws ground balls. Saw him beat the Indians late last year live in Cleveland. He's got something left. No one should be hoping for Skaggs to come back then shrugging at this move. You can never have enough SP. Shoemaker, JC, Fister, Skaggs (presumably), Meyer/Chavez is good enough to kind of stay in it. Would look into what it might take to get Quintana, although I don't think we have anything they want. Nolasco gotta go.

Don't really think he is a huge shot in the arm for us or anything. He is what he is; he was slightly better than that in 29 innings this season and he will revert back to what he is: a sub-5.00 ERA pitcher.
