If he had run hard, he would have been safe. I know I have said this many times and have gotten the business for it, but this is still an area of concern with Scoiscia and his lax discipline. Strict disciplinary measures should always be imposed for that kind of lazy, careless play. Ibanez is older than dirt, he should know better, and be experienced enough not to assume that would be foul.

I think Sosh would bench a youngster for it, but no way would he bench a veteran for that

Exactly, if you aren't going to do the things you can control well, then there shouldn't be a jersey in the clubhouse for you. Especially when you've been as useless as Ibanez.

Which makes no sense. The veterans need to set the example, and a play like that is absolutely worthy of benching him the rest of the night.

You could bet that the likes of an old-school manager like Earl Weaver, Billy Martin, Lou Pinella, or LaRussa would have read him the riot act in the dugout and removed him from the game.

Wow, swinging at the first pitch with the bases loaded after a 4 pitch walk to Pujols.

Lame!

I'm ready for the CJ Cron era to begin.

Looking at Cron's minor league numbers, I have a feeling he's the next Trumbo (which wouldn't be awful). He never walks.

they hit a couple of balls pretty hard off of him.

A couple were hit well, but that hit of Granderson's should not have been a hit if Freese was positioned properly. Skaggs induced a lot of gound balls to third last time out, yet they use a full shift on Granderson? Particularly when Granderson was mired in a slump? Great scouting and great decision making for the coaching staff.
