Happy Opening Day! What is your Opening Day ritual?

I'm washing windows in my Trout t-shirt and then 3 of us are going to the game.

If the game's at home I generally go, outside of some years.  I've been to 8-10 opening days/home openers in the last 12-13 years.  When actual opening day is on the road for us though I find some way to watch.  I remember in 2006 staying home 'sick' from school to watch.  Last year the game was at 1PM our time I believe, and I got out of class in Orange at Chapman at 12:50PM.  I somehow got back to the Irvine area by by 1:05PM to see first pitch.  Running to my car may or may not have been involved.  I'll be at the game tonight.  Have school during the day unfortunately, was easier to play hooky in elementary-high school.

Going to the Ducks game tonight.  It was a tough call, but I wanted to see one more game before the playoffs start.

Since I live in San Francisco my ritual is going to opening day for the Giants - I have gone every year since the new ballpark opened in 2000.

I was 18 and a freshman at Cal my first year. Always a blast.

Taking my cuter half this year as she has never done opening day.

 

Some years I do both Giants and Angels (like last year).

Usually sprawl out on a couch or the carpet floor - feel the excitement like being a kid again

 

cheer, clap, and scream when they announce the roster especially the starting lineup

 

even if I'm just home alone or scaring the wifey...
