Pile on the hate: The Angels looks like Dbags today

Recommended Posts

Let's all pile on top of the drug addict. Maybe we can steal his wallet without him knowing. I still can't believe he had a relapse. Arte needs to get rid of his support group entirely and hope for the best. Hamilton has been playing him for a sucker the whole time.

The players should give him the silent treatment when he gets back or piss in his locker. The fans need to boo this turd off the field.

Let's face it, he's not a drug addict, he's a loser.

It's remarkable to see an entire industry built on the leaking of confidential information suddenly turn into pious Saints of secrecy and discretion.

It's also interesting that none of them will actually go on the record that the Angels leaked the information. They just want to be able to imply and insinuate without recourse. Kinda like an anonymous source.

Typical Olbermann BS.

When will Josh Hamilton issue an apology to Angels, and to the fans for causing this whole mess?

What mess? Nothing has changed ... Hamilton will be back when he's cleared for baseball activities. According to Dipoto he's taking swings in the cage almost everyday.

I guess you mean the money they were hoping to save and use for a Houston Street extension.

But seriously, who in their right mind would decide to let this guy continue to spout diarrhea from his stupid lemon sucking puss lips? He's criticizing the Angels because they maintain the position that these kinds of actions will not be tolerated? REALLY?!? He has issue with them going to the public and saying what Josh did concerns them? HOW is that wrong? Meanwhile douchebag in the outfit he pulled from the dumpster disregards ALL of the comments that the Angels are going to do whatever they can to get Josh the help he needs.

Such backwards logic that an attempt to rebuttal would be an exercise in futility.

I also don't understand forgiving the guy just because he "admitted" what he did. That it should be overlooked because he said "He's Sorry." That's like letting the guy who robbed the liquor store avoid jail or punishment because he knew he did something wrong, he knew eventually he was going to get caught, so he decided to turn himself in instead. The robber still gets punished, and IMO so should Josh. And if MLB isn't going to do anything, the Angels have every right to hand out a punishment they see fit.

Maybe the Angels did go about this the wrong way, I don't know. But me personally, have been SICK of Josh's attitude from day 1. Yes it was dumb of the Angels to sign this guy knowing his history, but HE signed a contract too, and HE has certain responsibilities to follow through with what he agreed to. The Angels have held up their part of the bargain, it's time for Josh to hold up his.

I am disappointed that he cannot grow up and quit his childish habits, and have ZERO problem with the way the Angels have handled it. The amount of criticism they're getting is bullsh*t IMO.

^^^The problem is that this is not supposed to be public knowledge.  It's usually all confidential which means Hamilton was treated unfairly even though he relapsed. Just imagine how many players this has happened to in the past that no one ever knew about. I understand that people here want the Angels to punish him but legally, they can't.  From my understanding, there is no language in the contract THEY presented to him regarding anything about him using drugs and being punished if he uses again. If there is nothing to base it off of, nothing can happen to Hamilton.  He is basically untouchable and because he is an addict, he can pretty much do whatever he wants with no consequences.  He knew admitting he used and not being tested would result in no punishment so that's what he did.  The Angels hands are tied. Hell, they can't even send him to rehab.  It's the Angels fault for signing a druggie and MLB's fault for agreeing to such a stupid drug program.

Lol @ punishing somebody for doing drugs. Robbing a liquor store? Really?

I just had McDonald's for lunch and somehow my job was still waiting for me when I got back.

Many people can lose their jobs or at minimum be sent to rehab for taking drugs.  If the person on drugs is a burden on your business why wouldn't you want that burden to go away?

There's a difference between wanting to let go of a burden and announcing to the office "hey everyone, Johnny is a drug addict! Can't wait til he's gone"

h

I agree, its why I've said from the beginning of this thread that I don't think the public announcements were the best strategy and I think they will bear the brunt of that when negotiating with existing and prospective players.

That said to insinuate that there should be actual punishment from the league for it seems way over the top.

You guys also need to understand the distinction between saying you took drugs and failing a test, getting arrested, etc.

I am sure that in any job there is a difference between going to your boss and saying "I have a problem. I used drugs" and having the cops come in while you're at work at find a bunch of drugs in your pocket or failing a drug test.

Drug users are really going to think twice about signing with the Angels.  What a bummer.
