Washington publicly said he's worried about his job if the team has another late season collapse. At least he feels the pressure. It's better than the "we're not mathematically out of it yet" attitude while being 10 games out of the playoffs..

he didn't say anything about scioscia being the best manager in baseball or washington being the second best. he said, you're not going to have anyone available better than washington, unless scioscia becomes available. it's reasonable to infer that he believes scioscia to be a better manager than washington, because that was his point entirely. infering anything more than that is low reading comprehension.

Washington just brought in Feliz with 2outs and the bases loaded, to face the Royals worst hitter, and it resulted in a 4 pitch walk to bringing the winning run.

I don't know, I think bringing in a guy that hasn't pitched in high leverage 16 months in that tight a spot in a playoff race is questionable.

 

That said, ya, obviously Feliz should be able to get Alcides freaking Escobar out.
