make it to .500 by game 162? They would have to go 9-4 in the last 13 games. They have been playing well down the stretch and I was just curious what you all think. I guess I should say I understand that it doesn't matter because its playoffs or bust, but I still would prefer to be at least .500 to end the season.

My dream is for the Angels to sweep the four games in Texas at the end of the year and knock the Rangers out of the playoffs. That would redeem this season to a certain extent.

 

That would probably get us to .500 also.

No, there's no correct way to answer but I know the wrong answer when I read it, and I just read it.

6 against Oakland, 4 against Texas, and 3 against Seattle.  It would be nice if they went 9-4.  But I think 3 of 3 from Seattle.  And 3 of 10 from Oakland and Texas.  Oakland and Texas are still playing for something.  They are playing for something, where the Angels may rest vets, and see what some of these youngins can do to help get an advanced look for next spring.

I don't care if we go .500 or not. I want to eliminate the Rangers from the playoffs in Game 162, on their field. Scioscia should not rest the vets, but go all out to get it done.

One thing I believe is that Mike will play all out to win games against teams that are still playing for something. I don't think he will rest players against Texas and probably not against Oakland.

I was in favor of getting a top 5-10 draft pick a month ago, but now it doesn't even matter. I just hope we ruin Texas' chance of getting into the playoffs

500 means it wasn't a "losing" season.  Winning seasons are better than losing seasons.

It could easily come down to that. The AL wild card race is tightening up big time. Texas and Tampa Bay are tied now for the first spot, and three more teams are within 2.5 games. Kansas City is also hanging in there, 3.5 back.

A top 10 pick next year would be excellent and fruitful.

Our Angels were 10-20 in Spring Training so a losing season was always the plan. Winning games that matter was a long time ago.
