First of all, ranking GM's is silly.

 

Secondly, what is the goal of every major league baseball team supposed to be each year?   I'll answer that, to win a championship.  Beane has not done that.  

 

Dan Marino was a great quarterback, so was Fouts.  No championship, not the greatest.

The Giants were/are a fluke and this year proves it.

 

SF can thank Brooks Conrad giving them the series, horrible calls, multiple injuries, Cueto and varies Cardinal pitchers being hurt in 2012, etc..

I don't care that the Giants team won the world series despite me hating them.  They had some of the best teams in the league that never won that probably should have.  So, it evens out really.
