Brendan Harris did OK for us -- played well early in the season -  versatile MIF type -- now your classic 4-A type player.

 

Yankees will store him at AAA and call him up in September.

 

If the Yankees fade further down in the standings, expect Harris to play some late inning D for Jeter in September as Jeter plays in September for what essentially would be a MLB rehab stint so he's ready to go Day One in 2014 which could be his swan song year.

 

Harris was a decent roster addition for us........time to sign him and time to let him go.......all good.

Harris is no worse offensively than the dudes who have been playing 3rd base for the Yankees. Defensively though, I don't know about that.

If memory serves, they once had Vernon Wells playing third for at least part of one game.

 

Speaking of VDub, I see that he has given up #12 to Alfonso Soriano and taken #22, Roidger Clemens' old number.

Vernon Wells did play 3rd base for one inning in a one run game and even made a play 5-3 to help preserve a victory.

I watched Harris play tonight. I cover the Reds AAA team here in the Ville and they were hosting Scranton-Wilkes Barre. They have a Cuban kid who's going to be pretty good.
