admit it, you're ever so slightly concerned

1-8-2, with consistently awful pitching.

Granted, the pitchers from the projected 25-man roster haven't thrown much in games yet, but still . . . 3 straight years missing the playoffs, an awful start to last year, now a somewhat suspicious start to the spring . . .

I know ST games don't mean anything, but you don't want to see the team get used to losing, no matter what the situation is.  At the very least, our minor league depth appears as bad or worse than feared, and there has to be some slight concern over what the next few years could look like.

I would rather they lose and embarrass themselves during ST than to do it during the actual season (like April of last year).

I'm not worried at all. The Rangers are 3-7. Cincinnati is 2-10. The M's are freaking 10-1. If anything, it just shows how bad the Angels' minor league system is, and I think we all knew that well before spring training started.

The Angels have kicked ass in spring the last two years. Look where that got them.

I'm not really worried about the team that's going to take the field to begin 2013 based on a handful of ST games.

I am worried about what happens if an important pitcher or two(especially in the rotation) gets hurt, because our pitching depth is ass.

But I've had that concern for a few months now.

The spring roster and depth thereof is well below average and filled with more prospects than veteran guys. That combined with we don't have Madson, Burnett (heck I haven't even seen Downs pitch) and Scioscia never puts in a full lineup to play more than 4-5 innings --- don't worry about this guys.

I'm ok with Richards as a #6.  He's having a good spring.  After that, however, we're in trouble.

The SP depth is fine IMO. By no means is it "good" but having Richards as a number 6 and a journeyman vet as a number 7 is fine by be. Add in Maronde who has a lot of potential and they have some solid backup.

The only problem becomes if Weaver and or Wilson have to miss a significant amount of time.

The M's are hitting the bejesus out of the ball.

But yeah ST doesn't correlate much usually.

I am a little concerned. I don't like the fact that Burnett and Madson might miss April. I don't know if my body can handle another April bullpen performance like last year. I am concerned about Hanson staying healthy, too.

Burnett threw a bullpen yesterday and will throw another one tomorrow, and is then supposed to get into games later this week.

I don't think there's any reason to expect him to miss real games at this point.
