  1. Where did I say I want Butcher fired...?
  2. Honestly now that you mention it, I could see a Hatcher situation developing with Butcher. There are so many similarities there. I could see Dipoto canning him to spark the team. Just a prediction though. I hope the pitching in April isn't bad enough to the point that Butcher needs to be canned.
  3. 11-16 They usually start slow. They'll start out just god awful again, and then I think they'll go on a huge tear in May. I'm predicting they only lose 4 times in May
  4. I'm in the minority who liked Physioc. I thought he was better than Hud
  5. Realistically, I think it's towards the bottom of the league. A lot of factors go into that. The main one's are what AO posted about the "cans", and the other thing is that Mike Butcher is the pitching coach. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I just don't have a ton of confidence in some of the guys
  6. It's not ridiculous. We saw last year the Angels were very talented and the pitching sucked (Butcher) and we saw a lot of mistakes on the bases (Scioscia). Also a lot of inconcsistent batting lineups in April with Wells and Abreu playing over Trumbo
  7. This is not a well-coached team. That goes for Butcher and Scioscia. I know, I know...Spring Training, but..........
  8. Damn That was actually a nice throw by Conger. Andrus had a huge jump and is fast
  9. Is it a concern to anyone else how not fundamentally sound the Angels are?
  10. AA is harder to in then AAA. They both smashed AA
  11. They would still be good if Profar and Olt breakout. They have some injury prone players, yes, but they also have 2 elite position prospects
  12. I am not looking forward to Pujols thinking he's faster than he is for another 9 years. It's only going to get worse...
  13. Here's a nice article on some former WS winners that shows how over-valued this Mike Scioscia small ball thing is. BTW, we did not play very much small ball in 2002, so I don't know why Sicoscia became obsessed with it from 2003-2011. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2006/4/8/113847/6122 Gives some nice stats
  14. Bruce is right. With a smart and fast baserunner like Trout, you let him steal. With these average base stealers (Bourjos) you should stay on first and make the pitcher get out of the inning by pitching - not worth the risk most times. It has been proven that if a runner doesn't have over a 75% success rate of stealing bases, he is in fact costing his team runs. Trout was like over 90% last year I think, so no one should be mad with him running.
  15. Great game. **** the refs! Fowler and Getzlaf are total monsters btw.
  16. Stolen bases are overrated
  17. The joke went over your head clearly. Carry on...
  18. That's not why this thread was created. I've said it since the trade happened...Dipoto made a mistake. I have remained consistent with that belief
  19. Just so we're clear...I'm predicting right now .310/.350/.530 with 35 HR for Morales. Trumbo: .250/.290/.440 with 24 HR. We'll see how close I am
  20. So Jordan Walden doesn't sound so bad now does he?
