Honestly it sucks to see him leaving, but its probably the bbest out come for both ssides Opens up the DH spot for us and free ups money to spend on pitching. For Othani he gets 700 mil. lol

Ohtani will make that money back for them Im sure. The issue is the luxury tax. It wont be possible for the Dodgers to get under that number without it going up significantly or them shedding payroll in a few years. While the penalties start off weak after awhile they will start to drag on the organization.

I don’t care about the money at all (not my problem) and I wish the Angels could have kept him around but that all said.  The Angels are not a competent enough organization to commit that much money to one player.  It truly would have sunk them for god knows how long.  Arte isn’t an owner that will carry that kind of payroll burden in a way that will allow the team to be successful.  I am sorry that Ohtani has gone to the dreaded Dodgers.  But the part of my brain that functions correctly knows that the Angels couldn’t do that.

I love Ohtani, but the Angels were going to fucking themselves in the 500M range.  That contract would have guaranteed more of the same suckage.  Maybe it lights a fire under Arte’s ass or convinces him to say fuck it and sell.
