Offseason to do list: Its time to get rid of that......

Stupid yellow line in right field! All it does is hinder normal flow of the game.  Total waste of energy. Confuses outfielders and runners then stops everything for a review.  Really bad idea. Since no one seems to know what the net run total for the Angels is, just erase it or  prove it works for us. Bad idea.

we've had the new HR line for a long enough time to see how much of a difference it makes, if any.

i have no idea where to look for such info.

I unsuccessfully tried looking into this.

Baseball Savant’s search feature was no help, unless you want to watch and sort through the 1,193 HRs hit at Angel Stadium since the change.

Maybe someone else has a better idea of how to answer this q.

This HR went 369 feet.

This HR went 385 feet.

Both were hit above the yellow line, yet a 16 foot difference?

Stuff like this makes it impossible to search this query on Savant.

Sifting through all those videos would be better than watching a regular season game

@Jeff Fletcher do you have access to any info on this?

I don’t think there’s any way you could do this without actually watching all the HRs. You could make a rough estimate using the distances, and I suppose as long as you used the same numbers for each team you’d get a pretty accurate relative number for how many extra HRs the Angels hit vs HRs they allowed.

I don't think you can even do it using distances.

Both these HRs were hit off the part of the wall above the yellow line, yet there was a 16-foot difference in projected distance? I don't buy it.

That’s Oakland.

Major League was shot in Milwaukee.

I stand corrected.

Still weird

And the worst offender, and a movie I like: Naked Gun

Filming a Halos home game at Chavez Latrine?

Uhh, they last played home games  there in 1965.

Is there a law against filming Halos home games in movies at Angel Stadium?

Angle of the ball descent calculated with ball speed creates the 16 foot difference.
