It's funny by 2009 it felt like we'd be perennial winners indefinitely, but that was the end of an era. It feels like yesterday, and a lifetime ago. There have to be good days ahead at some point.

I was sky high after that walk-off double by Mathis in the ALCS.

Yes, a long time ago...

We drank water out of garden hoses, rode in cars without seat belts, rode our bikes without helmets or those ridiculous bike lanes, played football or wiffle ball in the street, and did all sorts of 'dangerous' things.

School were safe but we did have duck and cover drills on Friday at 10.

Cue up Bob. Seger : "Still the Same". --  second fiddle in S. Cal.

That's the Halos history and future.

After this season, I just don't see the Halos doing much the next ten years.

best players in all of MLB and we're a second division team.  Next year Ohtani won't be in an Angels uni and Trout may be gone as well.

New stadium?  Angels will be fortunate if they can negotiate a new lease with the City 0f Anaheim after all the shenanigans that went on with the prior lease extension effort.

It's crazy to remember that era, when this Org was literally one to be proud of (like that ESPN article mentioned) and to see how bad we screwed it up.

And we managed to do that by securing a huge revenue stream, drafting the best player in decades, and signing the best player in a century.

Hopefully they'll add a couple more wild cards to make us more competitive.

Only if MLB goes to the recently announced NBA format of an 'in season tournament' -- not sure how that's going to work in the NBA but it sounds like the NBA is trying to replicate -in some fashion - the excitement generated  by March Madness.   My query about whatever. the NBA format will be -  is what do the teams that go out in the first round of the 'in season tournament' do for the rest of the tournament ?   Mid-season vacation?   Play in a 'second chance' consolation round?
