Great game, great series.

Last week has been fun. Forgot what this feels like....

Obviously great HR by Shohei, but Sandoval is really looking like somebody they need to lock up soon.... hard to not really like him.

I had no choice here other than watching the feeds from the Blue Jay's and then the Yankees for the last six games. But it was fun watching the broadcasters start off confident but end up in frustration and disbelief. 

The YES crew were a little dismissive about Ohtani compared to Judge at first, but now can't spin away the evidence of this head to head encounter. Especially after the winning homer. 

I think a key factor in the comparison will be how Ohtani finishes on the mound. He should finish in the mid/high thirties in homers, around mid ninties/low hundreds in RBI's and an average in the 260s/270s. And other very good metrics. Not spectacular enough head to head against Judge if he maintains his pace. But still elite numbers. But that's half the story. 

If Ohtani finishes with around fourteen or more wins and stays in single digits in losses his value as an ace on an otherwise losing team will be even more impressive. His winning percentage versus the rest of the team hilites his importance. Assuming his other stats remain on his current pace. In fact, with more starts and innings he would be a top five Cy Young candidate. And realistically does deserves votes. 

Taken together, who really is a 'most valuable player'?  And players on losing teams have won the award over the years.
