Buckner earned this call up by his only outing he had this year. This shouldn't piss you off. You know better than I do about this stuff, but I am sure starting their MLB clock has something to do with it.

 

Pretty sure after May 15th, clocks don't matter.

 

Buckner isn't a big league pitcher.  His 1.5 WHIP in AAA tells you that.

Ok, I didn't know that Scott. But you do have to admit that Buckner pitched well in his only start this season. He is this years Dude We Got For Mathis. I think that was his name.

Clocks may not start...but options do. If the guy isn't on the 40, they tend to think long and hard about adding him to the 40 if they are just going to ship him out a few days later. You lose a whole option year that way.

Agreed on finally putting Richards back in the rotation, since we aren't realistically seeing post-season baseball in 2013. Finally see what he can do.

Second off, this is pretty much the season for real. One step forward (last night), two steps back. This team won't really be able to maintain consistency with everybody going on the DL, and key figures who aren't (I'm looking at you, Josh Hacksaton) setting the new bar for putridity (yes, I made it up).

Can honestly say in 40 years of closely following sports I've never heard of a player going to the DL because of an armpit. If this isn't fodder for a writer penning our epitaph later on this year I don't know what is.
