Yep. I have no problem with him getting a day off on the last day of a road trip when he has been ice cold.

Trout will somehow pull an ass muscle sitting on the bench and be out 3-5 weeks.

No problem with Trout having a day off. Huge issue with Fletcher hitting second. He shouldn't even be on an MLB roster at this point, let alone hitting second.

Trout needs a day off to recharge his batteries as it were; not a big deal to me.

Then again, given that this is Maddon, it's probably dangerous to assume anything.

All good on giving Trout and Rendon some days off early in the season after both missed large chunks of the year last season. Gotta keep these guys fresh and avoid having them miss any extended time if this team is gonna seriously contend. Team is still on the tail end of their 20 games with no off day, and its the last day of a 7 game road trip. Totally reasonable move to give Trout a breather

Fletcher hitting 2nd and getting him more AB's makes no sense of course. Hopefully he gets some BABIP luck and bloops a weakly hit ball for an RBI single or something today
