And people wonder why the Angels core of young pitchers were inconsistent.

Think about how many times you watched our pitchers, and were like "man, this guy sucks d*ck"

And then you wonder how many of them actually had to, to pay for their habit.

I'd like to assume that the players with addiction problems kept it under wraps from the rest of the org. If the org did know about what was going on and did nothing then that is a huge problem. People that have a soul wouldn't allow that to go on unchecked.

If there was any chance Carpino knew, he sure as hell would have been named in the lawsuit.

The fact that he didn't know doesn't absolve him, it was happening right under his nose. If anything it is worse, shows how little control he has.

To the previous CFO comment. If a company was embroiled in a financial scandal and senior management that reported up to the CFO were implicated, you can be certain the CFO would be ousted.

This is a silly thread. Kay was a lying weasel and covered his tracks like lying weasel drug addicts do. To look two levels above his station in the organization and say that person should have known is asinine.

Also, Kay has worked for the Angels for 23 years. That pre dates Moreno as owner and Carpino as President.

So your bosses boss should know if you have a drug problem?

Also doesn't matter. They were responsible while it was happening. This is no small thing, a leader has to take responsibility for the people that work for them. This isn't sleeping with a players wife, this is dozens of felonies and one contributed to the death of a player.

I have no idea if you are in management but if you are should you be fired if someone two levels below you sells drugs to another employee?

A manager's job isn't only giving reviews and approving PTO. The well being of your employees, especially if it impacts their performance in their job, is absolutely in your purview.

So yes?  You should be fired if your subordinates subordinate sells drugs to another employee?

FFS

Someone died, multiple players had drug problems, and an employee was dealing the drugs to them. You are telling me that it isn't willful ignorance? They had no compliance in place where any of the 10+ players and employees reported it?

You don't think leaders are held accountable for compliance when it's extremely serious crimes.
