Dear @angels fans,

20 years have flown by!

After much thought and prayer, it's time for a new chapter. I will not be returning to the @angels organization and the @ballysportwest team this upcoming season. While this is totally and entirely my decision, I remain grateful for experiencing my last year in a prominent TV broadcast position. I so cherish all of the memories I have made since joining the organization – from the 2002 World Series Championship to my friend Shohei Ohtani’s historic season in 2021 – but especially connecting with players, staff, and fans.

”I’d, uh, as one does in the course of baseball, uh, over executing, uh decisions, in the baseball sense of the career in the off field sense of the word… I am now, given my past with this organization and all around baseball club, making the family, uh, roster move to a basement odds-making facility in the Tropicana. Not the in the baseball legacy of Florida, just the basement of a Las Vegas building. It means “the meadows”. Sounds pretty. Thanks Gubi.”

I loved the guy as a person and I felt like he was getting better on broadcasts.

He's been a great friend to the website as well.

In all sincerity I think Jose was an awesome dude and I wish him well. Everybody in the org seemed to love him, and he was good with the fans.

Good hombre, I liked him. Thought he always did a great job on the broadcasts and during interviews. Yeah, we'd make fun of his grammar and syntax on occasion, but honestly, he speaks gooder than me in my native language.
