Well, I'm being facetious and picking on the Angels (and we fans) for bobbling the pass. I remember many of us saying, "Crap, we lost Soriano but Rivera looks even better and is close to major league ready! At worse its a wash."

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Angels get Soriano back. He won't be on the IL all year and I doubt the Astros will want to take up a roster spot in a playoff run. On the other hand, they could be assholes and falsely keep him on the IL all year with "complications" during his recovery.

Soriano is not on the Astro's.

The Pirates have Soriano, not the Astros.  The Pirates are so terrible that Soriano, despite probably being rather ineffective in his appearances, will likely be retained and they'll just let him take his lumps while on the roster for the obligatory half-season.  I doubt he's coming back.

It saved Reds money

Yes, I'm aware.  But my point is that the Angels are essentially getting him as a free agent and just paying a slightly reduced salary for him.  Ramirez wasn't going to be on the team this year regardless, and Rivas is completely indistinguishable from about 157 other middle infielders through minor league baseball.

Just saw it...  great play and Marsh's reaction was fun to see.    I know Adell made the catch but Marsh's mannerisms out there sure are fun.

I think Marsh was happier than Adell. True friend someday both be in OF for halos.

Yep.  And guys like Rivas are a dime a dozen, so we basically got Iglesias for "free."
