I agree, although I believe a basketball coach at the college level has 100x the impact on the outcome of a game that an MLB manager does.

Well Burnes and Robles are not good. ...probably shouldn't even be on the team at this point

We didn't have spring training, and the players never got to learn Joe's ways. 

This season is an anomaly, and shouldn't be counted on as the way thing will be next season if things return, and are more normal than they are now.

Just my opinion.

I feel like they won 2002 World Series because guys like Garret Anderson were very good.  That and you know an accumulation of players that don’t suck.  But sure.  Joe Maddon.

The thing about Joe Maddon that’s good is that people and players (also people) do seem to like him.  He’s a character.  That’s good !  It’s probably the most important thing about a baseball manager.  Ability to handle personalities is a real thing.  But the field commander shit.  Especially in today’s game.  I just don’t buy it.  And I think that the quirky stuff usually just doesn’t work well.  I’m not blaming Maddon for the angels issues any more than I blamed ausmus or Scioscia.  I’ve always taken that view on this stuff.  But it is funny how much hype Maddon got.
