Trout's worst start ever

Maddon has barely been here for 35 games and people are already fed up with him, lol.

 

For the record, I am not worried about Trout.  Of all the things to worry about, he is not one.

Career worst wRC+, wOBA, OBP, K%, Defensive Runs pace, WAR pace.

It is only 33 games, but it is--so far--the worst season of his career. As I said, he should be fine, but it is marked enough that some concern is warranted, especially given his increased launch angle, which is historically indicative of decline.

I remember a quote from Getzlaf once when Perry had his first kid. He said basically that first year you have a kid is going to be the worst of his career. Trying to figure out how to balance family time with professional life. I am not too worried about Trout, I think it just is the kid thing. If he declines again next year then that is when I will start to worry.

Wow, what a turnaround. He's now leading the majors in SLG at .676 and HR with 15. 180 wRC+ is back to his norm from the last few years. His walk rate has also been rising quickly, and he should be over .400 OBP soon.

The man is barely 29 years old. Every year, he is supposed to be supplanted as the best player in baseball. Then, that guy falls off the next year. Every year Mike Trout is amazing.  Some day, that will change.

But... enjoy it...and save the doomsday talk until its warranted. Some day you will be right... but save it

Trout has a legit shot at his 4th MVP. Regardless it will be another top 3 finish. He's a man.

It just sucks that it’s not a legit season so no matter how good he is or isn’t we can’t enjoy this.
