Morosi: White Sox, Twins, and Braves interested in Dylan Bundy

You don't trade Bundy unless someone makes you an offer you can't refuse. But that could happen, and often happens at this time of the season. So either:

A) The Angels acquire a couple good prospects

B) They have Bundy next year, and either he helps them to the postseason or is traded at the deadline for prospects

Either way is a good thing.

You get more this year because Bundy is under control for 1 more year. Saving on his salary for next year which will be close to 10 mill.

Bundy is like a stock you bought low and now it's at highest point. Sell

It’s not exactly like that.  The cupboard is near empty.  Are we trying to be competitive next year and the year after ? Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon’s contracts say we have to try.  So,  we’ll need usable pitchers.   If someone wants to blow Eppler away then sure.  But I think some of us are just saying not to expect that.

^^^^^^This exactly!

It’s a win win.  If we trade him it’s because a team over paid to get him.

Not really, the pitchers we get in return are not going to be proven front line starters.  Bundy is a diamond in the rough as far as I'm concerned.

Eppler has done well in trades, Sandoval, Goodwin, LaStella, Bundy, Buttrey  and Barreto. His FA pitching not so good Cahill, Harvey, Teheran and closer last year.

Not just FA pitching but FA’s period....Valbuena and Cozart were terrible....and Upton looks like a bad idea now (hindsight I guess)......trades and waiver deals, he is very good at....

Upton wasn't a free agent.

C) Angels ask for too much, keep Bundy , Bundy regresses back into career average (see how Tigers handled Boyd last off-season)

Sort of in the twilight zone, I guess....he re-did his deal and declined an opt out....but yes, Mr. Technical, I guess he wasn’t...

Nothing technical about it. If you're going to count Upton as a FA, then you have to include Trout.

No, not the same....Trout was a year away from being a FA....Upton could have been a FA, if he had chosen to do so....
