I mean if the team has shown good results and won more games, they deserve less draft support. A weighted draft in this manner will remedy complete teardowns and gutted fan bases.

I'll keep this short and sweet: MLB rewards teams that are destructive, handing out high draft picks for tearing down and losing lots of games, a complete rebuild hurts fans and players, all for the selfish act of building up a cheap and powerful, effective system. It's not good for baseball. The Angels have not done a complete rebuild once this century, they have spent exorbitant amounts to win and please the fans every season, yet we get the worst deal in the league when we come up short. Why doesn't the league reward teams that actually spend and attempt to win every season? The rebuilders are the ones that should be punished, what good are they for the sport? Why let the abusers continue to take advantage of a loophole in the sport for their own gain? The money spent yearly is hard evidence to support this. A team that spends nearly the same and wins far less than another team should be heavily weighted in their favor for the better draft slot.

Angels shouldn't spend $40MM unless they can get two Bauers, no way any pitcher is worth nearly $30-35 next year with so many uncertainties. It's time to save money for a better off-season.

I don't understand how we could spend $12MM on a "#3" given our track record, what is a #3 anyways and when was the last time we signed one that worked out? Also how can you justify spending that amount on a decent pitcher at best, players have depreciated in value since the shortened season and the uncertainties ahead. Players are not worth what they were in 2019.

Are you trying to make a point that the Angels shouldn't be so focused on big names and retaining expensive players and should be more willing to cycle through players? What if the Marlins fans feel the opposite and want someone like Yelich to stick around for them? I'll tell ya what, losing great players hurts, regardless if you are good or not.

I like the idea of finding talent from a franchise with a well run and super effective front office like the Rays, we have the money. If they feel they aren't being payed enough for their services making the Rays so effective they should speak up. We're here to help them help us, our market is huge and we have one of the best players and the most exciting player on the same team. *The only caveat* I see with hiring someone from the Rays front office is that we might have too much money, too lax, perhaps the financially restrictive nature of a front office like the Rays is it forces real clever and cost effective methodology to acquiring talent that wouldn't be possible unless we forced the same restrictions on ourselves.
