WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court is letting a limited version of the Trump administration ban on travel from six mostly Muslim countries to take effect, a victory for President Donald Trump in the biggest legal controversy of his young presidency.

The court said Monday the ban on visitors from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen could be enforced as long as they lack a “credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.” The justices will hear arguments in the case in October.

Trump said last week that the ban would take effect 72 hours after being cleared by courts.

The Trump administration said the 90-day ban was needed to allow an internal review of the screening procedures for visa applicants from those countries. That review should be complete before Oct. 2, the first day the justices could hear arguments in their new term.

I'm not overly concerned about four months.

In other SCOTUS news they are not acting like the horrible court the libs are making them out to be:

Decision on travel ban was unanimous.

9th circuit smacked down once again.

yeah, not quite sure where you are getting your information

They allowed parts of the travel ban to take effect, for people who do not have ties to the US. For people who had ties to the US, the upheld blocking enforcement of the ban. They combined 4th and 9th district rulings as well.

Split the baby kind of scenario. Not a loss for the Trump administration, but certainly not a full reinstatement of the ban either.

We should ban travel from France and England since that is where the nasty shit is going down.

Most of the problems we've had here are with ones that live here.  We should just make all the muslims go live in camps around their mosques and then build a giant fence around said mosques and sharia village.

Agreed, kind of a compromise decision.  I like it.

Sooooooooo, anybody have access to the date they initially intended to implement the original ban and the ability to add 90 days to it?

CNN producer John Bonifield admits the Trump-Russia narrative is "mostly bullshit" and "good for business". All about ratings.

He also agrees the network is on a witch hunt to get Trump.

His words on video.

Producer said there is no proof right now. He has no idea if it is BS or not.

In a perfect or even a significantly less than perfect world journalism would find no difference between pushing known lies or pushing known ambiguity as truth.

Did the FBI retaliate against Michael Flynn by launching Russia probe?

The FBI launched a criminal probe against former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn two years after the retired Army general roiled the bureau’s leadership by intervening on behalf of a decorated counterterrorism agent who accused now-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and other top officials of sexual discrimination, according to documents and interviews.

They are? Obviously there's something to report on. They aren't saying the prez and putin are in cahoots. But there is definitely fuckery afoot. My guess is... Trump has had communication with Russia that is inappropriate but in his mind it's a means to an end. He thinks he will outwit/out-negotiate the adversary. What he doesn't understand or is now learning, is that Putin is 12 steps ahead. Now Trump might be boxed in. Just like BHO was. Putin is the boa constrictor...The more you try to breathe the tighter the squeeze.

Yes.
Failure to use two sources
Failure to properly vet source
Failure to differentiate between rumor and fact

This is what or at least USED to separate real journalist from tabloid trash. CNN fucked it up for everyone else.  Trump going forward can point to this and use "fake news" whenever something less than glamorous appears.

He doesn't need to outwit Putin. None of his personal goals (because they are the only goals a person like him has) require outwitting Putin. He is going to get his bigly and leave office a wealthier man. Pres. Obama did a reasonable to good job dealing with Putin given the inherent limitations of diplomacy in peace time. His uncharacteristic and unwise hard line taken in Syria not withstanding. HRC unsurprisingly failed miserably to properly gauge the threat Putin represented because she can't read people to save her life. If this was poker she would be the one who could tell you the odds of playing a dealt hand and the appropriate strategy, but couldn't tell that noob at the end of the tabling giggling got pocket aces. Trump can do this better than almost anyone because that is what con artists do. They read people and exploit them.

I think Trump is in the most trouble compared to USA's other leaders with regards to Putin because he thinks he knows how to read people. BHO knew he was outmatched so he treaded water. Trump is entering a minefield in almost any direction he walks when dealing with Putin. Putin has decades of experience out-maneuvering others in politics. he boxes you in so no matter what your next move, you lose. Trump has dealt in only business. His success there is his greatest weakness and Putin is already taking advantage.
