Mostly idiots in Orange County who don't take the virus seriously. They're everywhere.

That is kind of my point. A national mandate does nothing other than telling people what they want to hear. It is completely unenforceable

I don’t know what Trump was really responsible for when it comes to the covid response so I try not to blame him for much. I don’t think it’s 100% fair.

What I do hold him accountable for is not leading by example. Trump very rarely wore masks from what I recollect and I think a better attempt at doing so might have gotten those that worshiped him the most to follow his example and not been such pussies about it.

I think this is a reasonable assessment. Had Trump pushed the mask idea I think many on the left would have rejected it and called it “authoritarian”. They will deny that but I honestly believe it’s true #Resist. This virus was going to happen regardless of what Trump or any governors did. The only way to stop it is total lockdown and that is a terrible idea too. It is what it is and hopefully this Pfizer vaccine works.

Study: Hydroxychloroquine no better than placebo for COVID-19 patients

Nov. 9 (UPI) -- COVID-19 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine showed no signs of significant improvement in "clinical status" compared with those given a placebo, a study published Monday by JAMA found.

Patients given a five-day course of the drug were scored as "category six" based on the World Health Organization's seven-category COVID Ordinal Outcomes Scale, the same as those given a placebo, the researchers said.

I asked my sister about this new Pfizer vaccine and this is what she told me about it.

Stability is a major issue with this. I’m sure you saw the info about how it had to be stored. We’ve already been running some prep meetings to plan for vaccine distribution and this one is problematic since the types of deep freezers required are not necessarily readily available for this scale. Dry ice doesn’t really cut it in any meaningful way (as far as I understand). And once it’s shipped it has to be used within a week. I honestly don’t know how we’d physically get it out to all the rural parts around here. So could really accentuate a lot of the disparities that are already a problem due to access to quality care

It’s probably good. It’s probably safe. But we actually have no accumulated experience with this type of vaccine at all (RNA) - it’s completely new

Makes super good sense virologically speaking and it’s the only option for a mass-scale up situation like this

This is good info. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I wonder if @fishbulb has any insight on this.

Cuomo slammed for call to 'fix' or 'stop' Trump's plan to distribute COVID vaccine

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday, Cuomo said he has spoken to other governors about how they can alter or even block Trump's plan so that President-elect Joe Biden could do it instead

He’s such a clown. New York needs to dump this guy.
